There’s no question that when Paris Saint-Germain unexpectedly landed Lionel Messi following his abrupt departure from FC Barcelona, the capital club would see a crazy demand at the ticket sales offices.
Le Parisien details how difficult it is for some PSG supporters to land tickets for any fixture at the Parc des Princes. There next two home matches against Montpellier Hérault SC and Manchester City are sold out.
PSG recorded eight times more registrations to its ticket sales alerts since Messi’s arrival this summer. At the club ticket office, there are only places at €479 left for the matchups against Angers (Oct. 15).
The sale of tickets for the matches versus RB Leipzig (Oct. 19) and Lille OSC (Oct. 31) will soon be announced, leading to a race for those interested in purchasing tickets.
For each match, only 9,000 to 10,000 seats are available for purchase individually. Priority is given to subscribers, who can then purchase a maximum of two seats, then to the My Paris loyalty program members.
Nonetheless, there’s also the resale market, and the capital club has a platform called Ticketplace, which allows supporters to buy and resell tickets.
There is some risk in purchasing tickets due to price inflation, but the French media outlet reports that prices usually range between €30 and €206 for a Ligue 1 matchup. On the other hand, for the Champions League, rates range from €150 to €605.
Its true the prices are way up. It used to be that a game like angers the tickets would hang around for a few weeks, and the seats in the boulogne would only be 35 euros. But its not as bad as Le Parisien are making out, I turned down a 50 euro ticket for the Angers game three days ago.
