Video: ‘He Doesn’t Do Much’ – RMC Sport Pundit States Lionel Messi Only Contributes in Spurts

Paris Saint-Germain faced adversity when they fell 2-1 at home against RB Leipzig on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League. After opening the scoring, the capital club conceded two goals, and before panic started to sink in, Lionel Messi came to the rescue.

The 34-year-old connected with Kylian Mbappé on a goal and would convert a penalty kick opportunity to help PSG secure the 3-2 victory.

During a segment on After Foot RMC, pundit Daniel Riolo stated that Messi didn’t do much apart from his two goals. Furthermore, Riolo adds that this is the Messi PSG will get, a player contributing in spurts.

“[Messi] is going to be a decisive player in spurts, but besides that, he doesn’t do much. He gives you the goal of 2-2; it’s very important. He even scored twice; if you look at the numbers and stats, we say to ourselves that he was the best,” Riolo said.

“But in the game, he does not add much; he does not accelerate anymore. He’s somewhat available. We feel that he can shed light on everything, but it will be complicated because it was only Leipzig, which had a very good match tonight. And when it’s above, it will be more complicated, with Liverpool, Atlético, Bayern (…) be careful.”
