‘He Can Win Everything’ — Platini Lauds Mbappe as the Future of Football

As Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s prime days are behind them, former French international Michel Platini (via RMC Sport) views that Kylian Mbappe has what it takes to emerge as the next face of the sport.

“We have lived 15 extraordinary years with two exceptional players who have won everything, Ronaldo and Messi,” Platini told RMC Sport‘s ‘Rothen s’enflamme’ show. “He is in pole position for the future. The future is in front of him, he can win everything. He is the player who should be the future great star of the years to come.

“He is the best French player now. He has everything to be the best, to be Ballon d’Or several times.”

As Platini touched on, Messi and Ronaldo shined during their respective runs at Barcelona and Real Madrid. From UEFA Champions League wins to multiple Ballon d’Or honors, the two simply etched their names in football history in the last decade.

Now, Mbappe sure has continued to make a case to be the next top player in the sport. He has not yet won a Champions League title and has not been voted as a Ballon d’Or winner, but as Platini noted, he can go on to win “everything” in his career.

Mbappe is at the least on track to add another winners’ medal to his trophy cabinet, as PSG remains on par to win Ligue 1 this season.
