Paris Saint-Germain is heading to the Allianz Riviera for a matchup against OGC Nice. However, the capital club will be without Kylian Mbappé due to the 23-year-old being suspended for yellow card accumulation.
Manager Mauricio Pochettio spoke at his news conference where the media asked him about not having the France international. The Argentine tactician talked about not having Mbappé for their final tune-up match before their second leg fixture against Real Madrid.
“We are talking about one of the best players in the world. The psychological aspect is important for his teammates and for the opponent. But we know that it can happen during the season,” Pochettino said.
“The important thing is that the group believes in the strength of the collective. We must grow this notion that the group is not strong thanks to individual performances but rather thanks to this collective strength that we must cultivate precisely beyond absences.”
On the bright side, Mbappé will be ready and fit for the Real Madrid as PSG heads to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium with a 1-0 lead, hoping to advance to the quarterfinals.
