Former Real Madrid Boss Zinedine Zidane Doesn’t Close Door on Managing PSG in the Future

All signs point to Paris Saint-Germain naming OGC Nice manager Christophe Galtier as their next boss, but the French tactician wasn’t their first choice. The capital club had its eyes on Zinedine Zidane; however, their pursuit was to no avail.

Zidane has his eyes on the France national team job, and should Didier Deschamps decide to exit from his role following the FIFA World Cup, there’s not doubt that the former Real Madrid manager will want that position.

Nonetheless, the 49-year-old was asked by L’Equipe would he ever consider taking the job at PSG and win with a French club in the future. Zidane didn’t close the door on possibly leading the capital side down the road if the situation is right for him.

“Never say never. As a manager, there aren’t 50 clubs where I can go. There are two or three possibilities,” Zidane said.

If Deschamps stays with Les Bleus past this World Cup, it will likely depend on how Galtier does as PSG manager, whether he succeeds or not, to see if PSG revisits its interest in Zidane.
