PSG Midfielder Vitinha Shares One Key Takeaway from Early Run in Ligue 1

Vitinha was among several players who joined Paris Saint-Germain over the recent summer transfer window and did not have previous experience in playing in Ligue 1. Prior to his ongoing run at PSG, the Portuguese midfielder had only featured in two top-flight leagues: Primeira Liga and the Premier League.

Through six matches played so far in Ligue 1, Vitinha has had numerous notable takeaways (via PSG TV) from featuring in France’s top flight, including with just how physical opposing teams in the league can be.

“I had an idea of what Ligue 1 was, but watching and playing in a league are two very different things,” Vitinha told PSG TV. “All the matches are very competitive, and teams are difficult to beat. They’re organized, physical, which means we have the ball in the majority of our games.

“That requires a lot of work and mobility, but we’ve managed to do that so far and want to keep that going.”

It has been so far, so good for Vitinha at PSG, as he has picked up a win in all six Ligue 1 fixtures that he has played in this season. He will have a pair of key tests coming soon with PSG’s league clashes against Olympique Lyonnais and OGC Nice.
