Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has been on quite a tear in all competitions so far this season. For both PSG and the Brazil national team, he has combined for 22 total goal contributions in the ongoing campaign, including the penalty goal that he scored in the Selecao’s 5-1 international friendly win over Tunisia.
From Chelsea center-back Thiago Silva’s standpoint, he has been far from surprised with the recent stout performances from Neymar. Speaking after Brazil’s win over Tunisia, Silva noted that Neymar’s ambition to “prepare well” for the season has so far paid off.
“Neymar is incredible,” Silva said. “A magician.
“He had big injuries, but this year he was able to prepare well during the holidays, I was with him in Brazil and I saw him. Neymar does everything to help PSG.”
Neymar returned from holidays a week early in July and was a full participant in PSG manager Christophe Galtier’s preseason schedule; he was a regular in training sessions and also played in three of the team’s four preseason fixtures.
Neymar will look to keep up his strong run of performances in PSG’s upcoming hectic schedule in October, as the Ligue 1 powerhouse will have eight total matches over the course of the month.
