Report: PSG Loanee Paredes’ Future at Juventus Gets a Crucial Update

When Leandro Paredes joined Juventus over the recent summer transfer window on a season-long loan deal, the belief was that the Argentine midfielder had already played in his final match with Paris Saint-Germain. However, this may not be the case after all.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Le10Sport), Juventus is uncertain about whether it will push to keep Paredes at the club past this season. The Serie A side signed the veteran midfielder on a loan deal that included an option to buy. This purchase option would become mandatory if certain conditions are met over this season.

As it stands, the buy option for the Argentine is set at around €22.6 million.

Paredes has so far featured in seven league matches with Juventus this season. Injuries have marred his debut campaign with the Serie A powerhouse, including the hamstring ailment that will force him to miss his side’s UEFA Champions League home group stage fixture against PSG next week.

It will be noteworthy to see just what Juventus ultimately plans to do regarding Paredes’ long-term future at the club.
