Lionel Messi is experiencing his best form with Paris Saint-Germain and has been involved in both the goal-scoring and playmaking side of the capital club’s attack over the last few games.
Ahead of PSG’s final UEFA Champions League group stage matchup against Juventus on Wednesday at the Allianz Stadium, manager Massimiliano Allegri discussed how he sees the resurgence from the Argentine forward.
“Messi has always been among the best players in the world,” Allegri told reporters on Tuesday. It’s normal that not every season can go well. I think it’s an important year for him, for PSG and with the World Cup. He’s 35 years old, so these are the last seasons of his career.”
Messi’s contract will expire in June 2023 and will have to decide whether he wants to remain in the French capital and continue playing in Europe.
