Galtier explains why he is not worried about PSG’s recent sluggish form

Paris Saint-Germain’s woes in the second half of the Ligue 1 season continued on matchday 20, as it came away with a 1-1 draw result against Stade de Reims.

This Ligue 1 fixture for PSG turned out to be a match of two halves. PSG manager Christophe Galtier called on his squad to play under a 4-4-2 setup in the first half. PSG tallied a mere one total shot in the opening half, as Galtier then opted to switch to a 4-3-1-2 setup for his team in the second half.

From its lackluster production in the final third to Marco Verratti’s red card, not much went PSG’s way in the fixture.

Overall, Galtier (via PSG TV) is not “worried” about his side’s recent sluggish form.

“Worried, no,” Galtier said during his post-match press conference. “But I’m disappointed in terms of our accounts and our performances. We must not hide behind the post-World Cup schedule. We’ve been here for a few weeks now, all together.

“Our performances are not at the level of the first part of the season. We must continue to work hard and find solutions collectively and individually. It’s obviously not enough when you’re PSG.”

Overall, PSG has picked up just two wins in its last five Ligue 1 matches. The reigning Ligue 1 champions will return to league play on Wednesday with a home clash against Montpellier.
