Nordi Mukiele put together one of the best performances from his ongoing first season at Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
Mukiele was penciled in to start at the right wing-back position in PSG manager Christophe Galtier’s three-at-the-back setup against Angers. Mukiele was on the stat sheet for PSG’s pair of goals in the Ligue 1 fixture, logging an assist on both scores.
On Mukiele’s second assist of the league match, he dished off a keen pass to a waiting Lionel Messi in the penalty box in the second half, and the Argentine forward ended up slotting home a right-footed goal.

Speaking after PSG’s 2-0 win over Angers (via PSG TV), Mukiele took some time to touch on just what went behind his pivotal assist to Messi.
“And for the second one, for Leo, I know that he is a player who is technically very gifted, and I just had to play it, and he finished, on his right foot, so I am very happy,” Mukiele said. “That’s how I feel, I feel much better now, but it’s just the beginning, it’s up to me to keep it going.”
Mukiele now sits at three assists to go along with a 0.5 key passes per match average over 16 league matches played this season.
