Report: Benfica Makes a Major Decision on the Future of PSG Loanee Draxler

Paris Saint-Germain currently has multiple players out on loan this season, and at the least, one talent will be making his return to the club later this year.

According to a report from the Portuguese-based outlet O Jogo, Benfica has no plans to make a push to keep Julian Draxler at the club past this season. Barring any major change in the coming months, Draxler will return to PSG during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Draxler joined Benfica on a one-season loan deal last September. The loan agreement between Benfica and PSG did not come with any buy option or a mandatory purchase option.

Draxler has since featured in 13 matches in all competitions for the current Primeira Liga leaders, and he has combined for a mere one goal scored. He did feature in both matches of Benfica’s UEFA Champions League group stage tie against PSG, and he played in exactly 12 minutes in both contests.

Overall, Draxler has just one more season left on his current contract with PSG.
