Serie A: French Press Give Crucial Update on PSG’s Pursuit of Milan Skriniar

Paris Saint-Germain has been linked to Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar for a possible move this January transfer window. However, a recent report revealed that the capital club would wait until the summer when the 27-year-old becomes a free agent.

Nonetheless, PSG wants the Slovakian defender this month. Foot Mercato reported Friday that president Nasser Al-Khalaifi is taking matters into his own hands in the Skriniar case.

Inter Milan reportedly wants between €15 million and €20 million to let the central defender leave before his contract with the Serie A side expires. Still, it remains to be seen under what the two parties will make conditions for this deal.

The PSG’s president is now determined to attract the Inter Milan man by the end of this transfer window. The position of the Rouge et Bleu is now clear: the objective is to recruit Skriniar.

A January arrival would boost the capital club’s defense, which is a weakness as Marquinhos needs to be more consistent. In addition, Presnel Kimpembe is dealing with an injury and Sergio Ramos is 36 years old.

Skriniar would push each of these players down the depth chart and could be the long-term center-back to anchor PSG’s backline for the foreseeable future.
