Transfer News: Zenit’s €24M Talent Keen on PSG Move as Deadline Looms

Paris Saint-Germain is moving in these last few hours of the January transfer window. The name that has recently surfaced to replace Pablo Sarabia, who left for Wolverhampton Wanderers, is FC Zenit’s Malcom.

Malcom has experience playing Ligue 1 having played Bordeaux from 2016 to 2018. As a result, he’s familiar with the league and knows what to expect, which is likely why PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has his eyes on the player.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reported PSG intends to hold a new round of talks to discuss the conditions of a Malcom deal with Zenit. The Brazilian is keen on a move to the French capital, but Les Parisiens have yet to make an official bid.

Zenit has Malcom under contract until 2027, so there’s no rush from the Russian club to sell. Nonetheless, the play might see the move to PSG as a redemption opportunity.

A move to PSG would be the forward’s second big move. In 2018, the Brazilian arrived at FC Barcelona, where the transfer didn’t go as planned. As a result, Malcom would leave the Camp Nou a year later to join Zenit.

Joining PSG will allow him to prove that he can produce for a club with high expectations.
