Achraf Hakimi’s Lawyer Accuses Allege Rape Victim of Racketeering Attempt

The prosecution indicted Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi for rape on Friday as the legal issues continue.

Nonetheless, after the report came out, Hakimi’s lawyer publicly addressed the latest in the sexual assault allegation.

Fanny Colin, who represents Hakimi during this legal matter, released a public statement where she accused the alleged victim of an attempt at racketeering. In addition, Colin highlighted the indictment of rape, stating that this is a routine procedure.

“I remind you that the indictment measure that followed this hearing is a must for anyone who is the subject of an accusation of rape and finally offers Mr. Hakimi the possibility of defending himself by opening up a large number of rights, in the first place that of reading the file,” Colin stated in the press release (h/t Paris Fans).

“After the few hours of hearing, I remember for my part that the informant refused to file a complaint, refused to submit to the slightest medical or psychological examination and refused to be confronted with Achraf Hakimi even though the accusation does not rest exclusively on his words. In my opinion, it follows from the documents which are in the hands of the judicial police that Mr. Hakimi was, in this case, the object of an attempted racketeering.”

For now, the procedure will need to go through the court system, which will hear both sides to eventually determine whether Hakimi is guilty or innocent. However, the legal situation shouldn’t prevent the 24-year-old from continuing his duties as a footballer.

Hakimi should be able to play in the UEFA Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich on Wednesday at Allianz Arena. Furthermore, manager Christophe Galtier operates as though the Morocco international will be available for the matchup next week.
