Atlético Madrid Star Uses ‘Alien’ Reference to Describe Lionel Messi’s Game

Lionel Messi is in the spotlight right now as the 35-year-old has yet to decide where he’ll be playing next season. The Argentine’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June, and there are plenty of rumors regarding his future.

Nonetheless, Atlético de Madrid midfielder Rodrigo De Paul opted to talk about Messi’s game as the veteran forward attempts to contribute to a UEFA Champions League team for the 2023-24 season.

“What Leo Messi does is magic,” De Paul told “El Larguero” Thursday (h/t Marca). “You live with the surprise of what he’s going to do and you never finish understanding it. He’s an alien. When you think he doesn’t see you, he leaves you alone against the goalkeeper; when you think he’s tired, he has a march more… it never ceases to amaze you.”

It’s been a wild couple of days regarding Messi, as initial reports revealed that PSG isn’t willing to meet his salary demands since he wants figures close to what Kylian Mbappé earns.

Then, another report came out that the Argentine wants a return to FC Barcelona after leaving the Spanish side in 2021 after the club’s financial situation forced him to exit.

The rumor mill will keep turning until the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner puts pen to paper on either an extension or signs a pre-contract with a new team.
