Exclusive: PSG Could Look at Ex-Liverpool Club Chief If Luis Campos Exits This Summer

Paris Saint-Germain could be looking to revamp its front office after one season of sporting advisor Luis Campos. The capital club crashed out of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 again, and changes will likely come.

Campos arrived last summer after Kylian Mbappé extended his contract until 2025. However, in his latest PSG Talk column, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Johnson wrote that if the Portuguese club chief exits, the capital club eyes an upgrade in former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards.

“… And another Premier League name who could be of interest if Galtier and Campos were to depart could be ex-Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards,” Johnson wrote in his column.

Edwards left the Reds after the 2021-22 season, where he was the sporting director since 2016. During his tenure, Liverpool won the 2019-20 Premier League, ending a 30-year drought, and the 2019 Champions League final over Tottenham Hotspur.

As a result, Edwards knows how to build a good squad to conquer Europe, which the French giants have attempted since Qatar Sports Investments took over the club in 2011.

The former Liverpool club chief took this 2022-23 season off, so it will be interesting to see if Edwards wants to get back into the football grind.
