Manu Koné Discusses Reported Interest From PSG, Chelsea & Manchester United

Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos could be tweaking the midfield position as some of his signings last summer transfer window has yet to work out. One name that could be in the mix is Manu Koné.

The Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder is a hot commodity this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United eyeing the 21-year-old, whose contract expires in 2025.

Koné recently spoke with Le Parisien (h/t Paris Fans) about the interest he is receiving from top clubs across Europe as the 2022-23 season is nearly coming to an end and the transfer window is close to opening.

“At the moment, I am in Mönchengladbach,” Koné told the French media outlet. “I live well with rumors, I don’t pay attention to everything that is said. It’s more my entourage and my friends who send me the articles.

“It’s a source of pride for them to see my name associated with big clubs, but it doesn’t make me hot or cold. I prefer to finish my season quietly. Afterward, what must happen will happen.”

Furthermore, with calls for PSG to bring players from the Greater Paris Region to have people who connect with the club and supporters, the midfielder would fill this requirement.

As a result, the French media outlet asked Koné what it would mean to play for his hometown club, possibly next season if the capital club does land him this summer.

“It’s true that I’m Parisian,” Koné said while smiling. “I was born and trained here (past by Paris FC and Boulogne-Billancourt). There is a logical link. But whether it’s Paris or another club, I don’t care. I just want to play football. In Mönchengladbach, I play. So if I have to leave, I’ll think about playing first.”
