PSG’s Danilo Pereira Explains Why Team Is Spiraling Out of Control After Lyon Loss

Paris Saint-Germain has suffered a second straight home loss after falling 1-0 to Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday at the Parc des Princes.

The FIFA international window gave the capital club a break after being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 by Bayern Munich in March. However, it didn’t help.

After losing to Lyon, PSG defender Danilo Pereira explained why the team has spiraled out of control in their last two fixtures.

“What is missing at PSG? The responsibility,” Pereira told Prime Video (h/t Canal Supporters). “We don’t respect the organization; we don’t give it our all. Even at home, we don’t give what we should give. We are in a difficult phase, but we must get out of it. Our opponents are closing to six points. We have to wake up.

“The title? No, he is not insured; we knew he was not insured because there are still a lot of matches. Ligue 1 is a very very difficult, competitive championship. We have to get this championship. Change the mindset? Yes, but we have to change a lot of things. But that’s not for me to say.”

PSG still has a six-point lead on RC Lens and Olympique de Marseille for the Ligue 1 title, but if the squad cannot get out of this funk they find themselves in, then the league championship might be at risk.

If the Parisian squad does fumble the league title, then there should be even more massive giants coming to the team if there weren’t already. Nonetheless, it would be a new low for PSG should either Lens or Marseille lift the league trophy.
