Inter Milan’s Defense Gets a Boost as Skriniar Targets UCL Final Comeback – Report

Inter Milan is heading to the 2023 UEFA Champions League final to face Manchester City in İstanbul, Turkey. The Serie A side defeated their archrival AC Milan 3-0 on aggregate and it seems they might be getting a reinforcement soon.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the soon-to-be PSG central defender Milan Skriniar hopes to recover from his back injury to face Manchester City with Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10.

In March, Slovakia team doctor Zsolt Fegyveres stated to the media that the Nerazzurri defender is dealing with damage to an intervertebral disc. This potentially severe diagnosis would leave the timeline for the player’s return up in the air.

The Italian club has taken no risks with Skriniar’s fitness, but the 28-year-old wants to do everything possible to be there for Inter Milan.

While Inter Milan did keep AC Milan off the scoresheet, winning 3-0 on aggregate, they’ll need all the defensive help to contain a Manchester City side that won 5-1 on aggregate over Real Madrid.

As for PSG, if Skriniar does play, the capital club will watch closely and hope their new defensive signing doesn’t aggravate his injury even more ahead of his arrival this summer.
