Video: Mbappé Scores Back-to-Back Goals in 2 Minutes Against Auxerre

Paris Saint-Germain got off to a white-hot start against AJ Auxerre at the Stade Abbé-Deschamps on Sunday thanks to Kylian Mbappé.

The first for PSG and Mbappé came in the sixth minute. The ball took a deflection just outside the Auxerre box and it fell to perhaps the most lethal attacker in world football. Mbappé was able to run onto the ball and after a couple of change-of-direction moves to beat the defender, the Frenchman blasted the ball into the top of the goal to put PSG up 1-0.

PSG supporters didn’t need to wait long for Mbappé’s second goal. In the eighth minute, Lionel Messi put in a slow-rolling cross on the edge of the Auxerre box. Hugo Ekitiké dummied the ball and with the defenders out of position, Mbappé took the shot on with his first touch and was able to bend the ball past the keeper for his second of the match and his 28th Ligue 1 goal of the season.

The brace provides some breathing room for Mbappé in the race for the Ligue 1 golden boot, with Olympique Lyonnais’ Alexandre Lacazette sitting on 26 goals.

A win over Auxerre won’t deliver PSG the Ligue 1 title just yet, thanks to RC Lens winning earlier in the day.
