SPORT reports that Barcelona’s hopes of securing the services of Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva have been dealt a blow. According to the Spanish media outlet, the Catalan side cannot make a viable bid for the Portuguese playmaker.

Furthermore, the report reveals that it’s increasingly likely that Silva will now be heading to Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants have been keen on the Manchester City star, who is under contract until 2025.
For Barcelona, the failure to secure Silva’s services highlights their current financial challenges. While they have been able to spend money to improve their squad, the inability to pay a significant sum for Silva shows they’re not out of the woods yet.
Silva seems ready for a new challenge after winning every trophy during the 2022-23 season. Still, the Premier League side isn’t keen on giving him up. If Barcelona is out of the running, PSG might be the only club in the race to lure Silva away from the English club.
