Kylian Mbappé Leaves PSG-Marseille Match in First Half with Injury

The alarms are sounding off at Paris Saint-Germain after Kylian Mbappé left the contest against Olympique Marseille. In what appears to be an ankle injury, the 24-year-old had to leave in the first half and went straight to the dressing room.

PSG was up 1-0 when the winger had to leave. Furthermore, the Ligue 1 giants added another goal courtesy of Randal Kolo Muani. Luis Enrique’s squad could hold the fort down against domestic clubs, but the question now surrounds how severe the injury is.

Additionally, many will likely worry if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will be fit for the match on Oct. 4 against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park. The encouraging sign is that the forward was walking to the dressing room under his power.

Nonetheless, the capital club invested in having depth in the attacking position, so it will be up to other players to step up if Mbappé is out for any foreseeable time.
