PSG, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United Eyeing Atalanta’s €50M Defensive Gem

Paris Saint-Germain needs to use these next few days of the summer transfer window to improve their defense. The injury to Milan Skriniar, who will be out for months, has the capital club needing a center-back.

Securing deals for Dayot Upamecano, Diego Llorente, Leny Yoro, Maxence Lacroix, and Jean-Clair Todibo appears challenging for PSG in January. These transactions seem complex, whether due to the perceived high prices or the players being deemed untransferable.

Foot Mercato reports that Atalanta BC defender Giorgio Scalvini is on sporting advisor Luis Campos’s list of favorite targets. However, persuading Atalanta to part ways with Scalvini this winter won’t be straightforward.

The Bergamo management is known for its tough negotiation stance, insisting on a hefty sum of €50 million to transfer their defensive talent. Bayern Munich and Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on Scalvini for months now. The Red Devils currently hold an advantageous position in the race.

Despite no formal negotiations between PSG and Atalanta, the Parisians closely monitor the situation and gather information. Scalvini’s versatility in playing in a three- or four-man defense, coupled with his modern defender profile, blending vital physical attributes with solid technical skills, has captured the attention of the Parisian club internally.
