Paris Saint-Germain may contemplate seeking a replacement for Kylian Mbappé during the upcoming summer, with reports suggesting the Frenchman will depart once his contract concludes in June.
The Parisians are linked to various goal scorers, and one of them is Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen. However, if the Nigerian striker is a top target, the capital club needs to act fast, as Chelsea has an inside man helping them recruit the 25-year-old.
Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel recently stated he would like to see Osimhen be the next Nigerian great to play at Stamford Bridge. Furthermore, he notes that Manchester United and PSG are keen on the player.
“I think there is real interest between the two,” Mikel said (h/t Paris Fans). “I think [Osimhen] likes the club. He wants to come. Of course, he wants to follow in my footsteps as a Nigerian player at Chelsea.
“He visited London, a fantastic city. He also has interest from PSG and Manchester United. I push, I send him messages so that he doesn’t wait too long and concentrates on one club: Chelsea.”
Barring a departure from Randal Kolo Muani or Gonçalo Ramos, it’s hard to envision PSG spending a significant sum on a striker. Nonetheless, if either of these players leaves, it could make the Ligue 1 side a serious contender for the 2023 Serie A winner this summer.
