Despite Heavy Interest From PSG, Chelsea Inist Levi Colwill Is Not For Sale

Newspaper reports in England have suggested that PSG have joined the race to sign Levi Colwill from Chelsea. However, they might find themselves in a tug-of-war with Liverpool if Chelsea decide to entertain offers.

Despite these reports, Chelsea remains steadfast in their stance that Colwill is not for sale at any price. Having inked a six-year deal just last summer, the 20-year-old seems content to stay in West London.

However, their poor Premier League form means they’ll likely miss out on European Football for a second consecutive season. If that happens, they could face significant financial regulation issues and may have to continue their policy of selling homegrown stars to boost their income.

Ian Maatsen, Armando Broja, and Trevoh Chalobah have all been linked with permanent moves away. Colwill is likely one of the few academy products that Chelsea would be reluctant to let leave, meaning a hefty fee would be required to make the move a reality.

Sporting director Luis Campos is spearheading Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of Colwill, with a move planned either this year or in the 2025 summer window. The young defender would fit into the more youth-focused recruitment policy recently implemented by PSG’s hierarchy.

On the field, Colwill has been ever-present for Chelsea this season, commanding a regular starting spot for the first time. His adept passing skill and defensive acumen have earned him plaudits, while his ability to slot into the left-back position further enhances his appeal.

The impending departure of Kylian Mbappé could provide the finances required, but Chelsea’s reluctance to sell means a deal wouldn’t be easy to get done.
