PSG Must Get Serious About Pursuing Arsenal, Chelsea Target, Journalist Says

Paris Saint-Germain will need to replace the outgoing Kylian Mbappé, who will reportedly leave when his contract expires in June. For the Parisians, they’ll need to decide whether to pursue a forward to help replace the 25-year-old’s production.

Over the last few weeks, PSG has seen their name connected to various goal scorers, including Napoli standout Victor Osimhen. RMC Sport journalist Florent Gautreau believes that the Nigerian striker is the ideal player for the capital club.

“The Victor Osimhen track seems credible to me; it fits perfectly within PSG’s standards,” Gautreau said (h/t Le10Sport). “The release clause is set at €130 million, compared to €175 million for Rafael Leão.

“It’s more logical to go after a No. 9, rather than a player on the left flank, even if it means letting Randal Kolo Muani go.”

If the Ligue 1 side wants to bring back the former LOSC Lille star to France, they’ll face stiff competition. According to reports, Arsenal and Chelsea have their eyes on the 2023 Serie A winner.

PSG face a tough challenge in overcoming these two Premier League teams, especially considering Osimhen’s openly expressed desire to play in England.

Nevertheless, Chelsea won’t be playing UEFA Champions League football, and Arsenal does have a Financial Fair Play threat over their head after spending £200 million on Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber in the summer transfer window.

The Osimhen saga will be fascinating to follow if PSG get serious about their pursuit.
