Renato Sanches Transfer: Two Suitors Emerge as Roma Exit Looms

Recent reports suggest Renato Sanches might part ways with AS Roma during the January transfer window. Despite the Portugal international arriving this past summer, his tenure will probably be cut short.

Sanches has failed to make an impression with the Serie A, and now they want to move him off earlier than expected. Although it seems the midfielder’s time is ending, Gianluca Di Marzio reports there are suitors for the player.

According to the journalist, several teams have requested information from Roma and Paris Saint-Germain, the owners of the player’s contract, to understand the player’s situation. Among them, Besiktas and Olympiakos stand out.

In the summer, Sanches joined Rome as a part of the double operation that brought Leandro Paredes back to the Italian capital. The decision for the Portuguese’s arrival involved a burdensome loan of one million euros with an obligation to buy.

PSG put the purchase price at €11 million if he played 55 percent of the matches and €14 million if he played 75 percent. Sanches has had a challenging first half of the season, playing only five times in Serie A (scoring one goal) and making four appearances in the UEFA Europa League, partly due to various injuries.
